America's Mobility Air Forces continued transporting equipment and personnel to East Coast staging areas in support of relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The 618th Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center) at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., has scheduled additional airlift missions Nov. 4,  to continue the flow of aid to areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

MAF Airmen are moving cargo and personnel from locations across the country. The cargo includes power restoration vehicles, veterinary equipment, high volume water pumps and power generators. To date, mobility aircraft have moved more than 1,900 short tons of cargo.

Mobility forces have also moved more than 450 passengers from more than 20 departure points in support of the recovery efforts. Passengers flown aboard aircraft to aid in recovery efforts specialize in entomology, utility work, civil engineering, medical and veterinary specialties.
