More than a hundred Airmen have been selected for promotion as part of the March enlisted supplemental promotion process, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced.

Those on the supplemental promotion list are Airmen who tested outside of their required cycle because of an extended temporary duty assignment or deployment in support of a contingency, said Master Sgt. Gisela Hawthorne, noncommissioned officer in charge of enlisted promotions and testing.

"To be selected, they had to achieve an overall promotion score higher than the cutoff in their respective Air Force specialties," Hawthorne said.

The score is a composite of several Weighted Airman Promotion System factors, including time in grade, time in service, enlisted performance reports, decorations, promotion fitness examination score and specialty knowledge test score, she explained.

"In the case of selection for promotion to senior or chief master sergeant, it also includes board scores," she added.

Although promotion selections have been announced, they are tentative until the data verification process is complete, which will be no later than 10 days after the promotion release date, Hawthorne said.

"If there are any discrepancies, we'll notify Airmen through their servicing military personnel section," she said.
