Preventing disease in Cambodia, one mosquito at a time
Tech. Sgt. Russ Thomas and Capt. Wes Walker put together traps for mosquitoes associated with malaria and dengue in a rural part of Cambodia Aug. 6, 2011, during Operation PACIFIC ANGEL 11-1. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Cambodia had 57,232 reported cases of malaria from 2000 to 2005; cases climbed to 64,595 in 2009.
