Master Sgt. Tara Brown died Apr. 26, 2011, of wounds sustained when an Afghan gunman, who also killed seven other Airmen as well as an American civilian contractor, went on a shooting spree in the Afghan air force compound near Kabul, Afghanistan. Sergeant Brown was assigned to Headquarters AFOSI at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Client Support Technician, in the Personnel Division.
