2011 Environment, Safety, Occupational Health Symposium wraps up Published March 26, 2011 By Jennifer Green 30th Space Wing Public Affairs NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AFNS) -- The 2011 Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Symposium at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel here wrapped up after five days of training sessions. The symposium ran from March 21 through 25. Airmen from all Air Force commands attended sessions on topics ranging from environmental chemistry to risk communication. The ESOH Symposium was an opportunity for individuals to meet and network with others from a variety of career fields including contracting, bioenvironmental engineering, asset management, maintenance, public affairs and legal. This event allowed people from different specialties to get together and gather information about how to make the most of each individual's Air Force experience on how to avoid waste, whether it is of a personal or an environmental nature. "It's an opportunity for many commands to come together and cross-train," said Mr. J.P. Smith, the ESOH Symposium director. According to Smith, the hope is to reduce future cost to individual commands and increase an understanding between career fields through learned mutual understanding of the topics taught. This symposium is an annual event. Information on the recent symposium can be found at http://twitter.com/AF_ESOH or www.esympo.com.
