Air Force Medical Service officials announced the launch of a new Facebook page Feb. 2.  This communication tool will provide a venue for service members and their families, retirees and their families, and interested organizations and individuals to receive health-related information and resources and news stories about the AFMS on a recurring basis.

The page will include general health announcements including patient-centered health care advice and resources, news updates about the AFMS and Military Health Service, health-related videos and relevant links to other federal and military web sites. The content has been designed to provide the community with the information they need, when they need it,  contributing to improved experience of care including individual readiness, service satisfaction and better health.

"This is a popular communication tool to inform, educate and inspire our service members and their families about their health needs, their benefits and the AFMS in general," said Lt. Gen. C. Bruce Green, Air Force surgeon general. "Creating interest and more understanding with innovative communication is a vital factor in quality health care and healthier outcomes."

AFMS leaders invite readers to become a fan of the new Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/AirForceMedicalService. Readers also can copy the following message to social media networks to encourage others to do the same,
