Close-Air Support

Orgun-E
Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of presence and shows of force to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers deemed the engagements successful.

Ghazni
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force and released precision guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs declared the engagements successful.

Chahar Bagh
Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots and F/A-18F aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots performed multiple strafing runs over enemy targets to deter enemy activity. The aircrews conducted a show of force with flares. Ground controllers and JTACs declared the engagements successful.

Balocan
Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots performed multiple strafing runs and released precision-guided munitions over enemy targets to deter enemy activity. JTACs called the engagements successful.

Asadabad
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions over enemy targets to deter enemy activity, JTACs declared the engagements successful.

Abchakan
F-15E aircrews and F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots and aircrews conducted shows of force over enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Kandahar
Coalition aircrews and Air Force A-10 and F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The coalition aircrews conducted shows of presence to deter enemy activity. The U.S. pilots released precision guided munitions over enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs called the engagements successful.

Asmar
F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted show of forces of force with flares over enemy targets which ground controllers deemed successful.

Tarin Kowt
Air Force MQ-1B Predator operators and F-16C and A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The MQ-1operators released a rocket over an enemy target. The F-16C pilots released precision-guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity and the A-10 pilots conducted a show of force with flares to deter enemy activity. JTACs declared the engagements successful.

Air Force C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 122,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Dai Kundi Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Dai Kundi Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 18,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Ghazni Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 30,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand Province
