Close-Air Support

Balocan
Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II and F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots performed strafing runs against enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Moqor
Coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares over an enemy position which JTACs declared successful.

Konduz
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews and F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of presence and shows of force with flares over enemy positions. The pilots conducted a show of force over an enemy position to deter enemy activity. JTACs deemed the engagements successful.

Lashkar Gah
Air Force MQ-9 Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released a missile against an enemy target to deter enemy activity. JTACs and ground controllers declared the engagement successful.

Gereshk
F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. JTACs called the engagement successful.

Kandahar

An Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Farah Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand Province
C-17 aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 176,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Herat Province
An Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Herat Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 17,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
