Major learns to get back up after fall
Eagles Peak, a mountain west of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo., is where Maj. David Garay survived a 50-foot fall while hiking as a cadet in 1997. Although bones were broken in his face, he tried to climb down to get help. The head trauma he suffered almost cost him his dream of flying for the Air Force, but he overcame it all to become a flight test engineer. (Courtesy photo)
