July 26 airpower summary Published Aug. 2, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations July 26, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here. Air Operations in Afghanistan Close-Air Support Shahidan Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of force which ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called successful. Abchakan Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews, an Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew, and Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The F/A-18F aircrews conducted a show of presence and the F-16C pilots conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. The B-1B aircrew conducted a show of force with flares to deter enemy activity. JTACs and ground controllers called the engagements successful. Tani F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions against an enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs called the engagement successful Kandahar F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of force with flares which JTACs declared successful. Khavel Coalition and Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force with flares over enemy positions to deter enemy activity. JTACs and ground controllers called the engagements successful. Asmar F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted shows of force over several enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs declared the engagements successful. Airlift Action Badghis Province Air Force C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 172,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces. Helmand Province A C-17 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces. Nimroz Province A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Nimroz Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 35,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces. Zabul Province C-17 and C-130 aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 239,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
