July 19 airpower summary Published July 27, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations July 19, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here. Air Operations in Afghanistan Close-Air Support Gardez Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of force over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. On-scene joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers called the engagement successful Ali Kheyl F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force which ground controllers called successful. Farah Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and performed multiple strafing runs against an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs declared the engagements successful. Asadabad Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted shows of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs called the engagements successful. Asmar F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Helmand Province C-17 aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 176,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces. Logar Province An Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Logar Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 27,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
