Close-Air Support

Kandahar
Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted multiple shows of force over several enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Asadabad
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares which ground controllers declared successful.

Ali Kheyl
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force which ground controllers declared successful.

Gereshk
Coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. JTACs called the engagement successful.

Chahar Bagh
Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and JTACs called the engagements successful.

Asmar
F-16C pilots and F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews released precision-guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. An Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand Province
A C-17 aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Logar Province
