Officials announce 2010 AFA outstanding Air Force civilians Published June 30, 2010 Air Force Personnel Center Public Affairs Office RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials announced the winners of the 2010 Air Force Association Outstanding Air Force Civilian of the Year awards June 29. Each year, AFA officials recognize four Air Force civilian employees for outstanding achievement in any career field. This year's recipients were: - Eric Straight, an aircraft metals technology craftsman at Hurlburt Field, Fla., in the civilian wage employee category - Christopher Deanes, the operational support office director at Pope Air Force Base, N.C., in the civilian program specialist category - Gary Strickland, the Airman and Family Readiness Center chief at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, in the civilian program manager category - David Dias, the logistics technology integration division chief at Scott AFB, Ill., in the civilian senior manager category Mr. Dias will receive his award in September at the AFA's 2010 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C. The remaining winners will receive their awards at state and local chapter ceremonies.
