June 24 airpower summary Published June 28, 2010 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations June 24, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here. Air Operations in Afghanistan Close-Air Support Sangin Air Force MQ-9A Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The operators released a missile against an enemy position that posed a threat to friendly forces. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful. Kandahar Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force followed by cannon-fire strafing runs against an enemy position.
