The Air Force's top enlisted Airman released his latest "Enlisted Perspective" and it focuses on strengthening one of the service's priorities, the nuclear enterprise.

Over the last few months, Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Roy has visited some of the Air Force bases involved with the nuclear enterprise. The chief said it was an eye-opening experience.

"These Airmen have unique working conditions, like driving for hours on end to reach their remote duty locations, stringent security checks just to enter work and a rigorous inspection schedule, " said Chief Roy.

"However, the most demanding challenge is the need for perfection," he said.

Chief Roy said that success of the mission was clearly an individual responsibility and had to be error free.

"Our nuclear enterprise provides an umbrella of security for both the U.S. and many of our strategic partner nation countries, he said. "Providing that strategic deterrent requires a sustained level of competence to make sure the nuclear arsenal is safe and secure."
