Close-Air Support


Qarah Bagh
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and a convoy. The aircrews conducted a show of presence for a friendly forces convoy.

Moqor
An Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrew conducted a show of force to deter enemy fire against friendly forces. The show of force was declared successful by ground control.

F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch and close air support for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted a show of force to deter anti-Afghan forces activity in the area. The show of force was confirmed successful by joint terminal attack controllers.

Bagram
F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for a friendly forces convoy and dismounted patrol. Aircrews conducted a show of force, with flares launched, to deter anti-Afghan activity in vicinity of the convoy and patrol. Ground control confirmed the show of force was successful.

Almar
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch of friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of force, with flares launched, to deter enemy fire against friendly forces. When enemy forces moved to other enemy fighting positions, pilots released precision-guided munitions and made strafing runs against enemy fighting positions, which ended the engagement.

Konduz
F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews conducted shows of force over enemy forces firing against friendly forces. Aircrews followed up with numerous strafing runs and precision-guided munitions to successfully suppress enemy fire.

Orgun-E
Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews and F/A-18C Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrews and pilots conducted shows of presence to deter potential enemy action, which were declared successful by ground forces.

Malek Din
Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force that was declared successful by ground commanders.

Balocan
F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly ground forces. The pilots conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers reported the action successful.

Navy F/A-18C pilots followed with another show of force that was also considered successful by ground controllers.

Karokh
A B-1B aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and a convoy. The aircrew conducted a show of force and shows of presence to deter enemy action in the area of the convoy. The actions were declared successful by joint terminal attack controllers.

Shindand
F/A-18C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The pilots conducted a show of force and shows of presence that were declared successful by ground controllers.

Airlift Action


Zabul Province
An Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew combat airdrop missions in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 30,000 pounds of sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Ghazni Province
A C-130 aircrew flew combat-resupply missions in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 27,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Oruzgan Province
A C-130 aircrew flew combat-resupply mission in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 35,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
