Manpower agency officials name annual award winners

Air Force Manpower Agency officials recognized their 2009 top performers recently during an annual awards luncheon here.

The awards recognized the top military members, civilians and teams throughout the Air Force Manpower Agency.

"The winners represent the best across the Air Force at helping optimize the essential manpower needed to support the Air Force mission," said Col. Brian Norman, the AFMA commander. "Their efforts in helping achieve the right balance of manpower to meet today's commitments allow the service to effectively use its resources while improving existing capabilities."

The annual individual award winners are:
-- Capt. Dawn Standridge, 5th Manpower Requirements Squadron, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., Company Grade Officer of the Year
-- Master Sgt. Richard Goshen Jr., 2nd MRS, Langley AFB, Va., Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year
-- Staff Sgt. Tasha McKain, 3rd MRS, Scott AFB, Ill., NCO of the Year
-- Dr. Mischell Navarro, AFMA, Randolph AFB, Texas, Senior Civilian of the Year
-- Janet Eckroat, AFMA, Randolph AFB, Intermediate Civilian of the Year
-- Leilani Weathersby, 3rd MRS, Scott AFB, Junior Civilian of the Year

The annual team award winners are:
-- Central Civilian Classification Branch A, Randolph AFB, AFMA Classification Branch of the Year
-- 2nd MRS, Langley AFB, Top AFMA Unit of the Year
-- Performance Planning Branch Air Force Survey Team, Randolph AFB, Top AFMA Study Team of the Year

The awards luncheon was part of the annual AFMA Management Engineering Summit in San Antonio. The summit includes representatives from manpower requirements squadrons throughout the Air Force who came together to discuss manpower solutions affecting Air Force functional communities.
