Close Air Support

Farah, 
An Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces searching a compound then conducted a show of force in support of a convoy receiving enemy small-arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire, as well as dismounted ground forces pursuing enemy combatants.

Shurakian
Coalition pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted a show of force to support friendly forces taking enemy fire. The show of force was successful. The pilots continued to several known enemy firing positions and searched compounds for signs of enemy activity.

Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted shows of force to deter hostile activity in the area. The shows of force were declared successful when no enemy action was noted.

Oruzgan
An Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces at a checkpoint. Aircrews conducted several shows of force to deter potential enemy activity in the area. The shows of force were declared successful when no enemy action was noted. The aircrew then provided armed reconnaissance to locate an enemy vehicle.

Konduz
F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly personnel repairing a road. The aircrews conducted shows of force to deter hostile activity in the area. The shows of force were declared successful when no enemy action was noted.

Airlift Action

Badghis Province 
Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrews flew a combat-resupply mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 48,000 pounds of construction supplies to friendly forces building a helicopter landing zone.

Konar
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-resupply mission in Konar Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 30,000 pounds of supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand
A C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-resupply mission in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 72,000 pounds of supplies to friendly forces.

Oruzgan Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-resupply mission in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 27,000 pounds of supplies to friendly forces.
