Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations Feb. 13, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Close Air Support:
Lashkar Gah
Air Force MQ-9A Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for a friendly forces operation. Operators observed enemy forces emplacing an improvised explosive device. Operators confirmed the intent of the enemy and eliminated the threat to friendly forces with a missile. Later, the operators observed surviving enemy forces and fired another missile, successfully eliminating the threat to friendly forces.

An Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces came under enemy machine gun fire and the point of origin for the enemy fire was confirmed, the aircrew released a precision-guided munition eliminating the enemy fighting position. Later, the aircrew provided armed overwatch in support of a medical-evacuation operation.

Asadabad
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces reported taking small-arms fire, aircrews released precision-guided munitions on an enemy position eliminating the threat to the friendly forces. A short time later, another known enemy fighting position opened fire on friendly forces and aircrews eliminated the new threat with precision-guided munitions.

F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch, reconnaissance and conducted helicopter escort for friendly forces. The aircrews also conducted a show of force, with flares launched, to deter anti-Afghan forces activity in the area. Ground control declared the show of force successful.

Musa Qala
Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces reported taking sporadic small-arms fire, pilots conducted a show of force, with flares launched, to facilitate a break in contact between the friendly forces and enemy forces. The show of force was successful when no further enemy action was noted.

Qalat
Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force to deter potential enemy action. The show of force was declared successful by ground control.

Kan
Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for coalition forces. Pilots conducted a show of force to deter any enemy fire which were declared successful when no enemy action was noted.

Airlift Action:

Farah Province
An Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Farah Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 36,000 pounds of sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Badghis Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-resupply mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 34,000 pounds of sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Badghis Province
A C-130 aircrew flew a combat-resupply mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 48,000 pounds of supplies to friendly forces.

Air Operations in Iraq:
