Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Chahar Bagh
Air Force MQ-9A Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces reported taking enemy fire, the operators received coordinates for the enemy position and released a precision-guided munition against the enemy target, which eliminated the threat. All enemy fire ceased.

Tirgari
Pilots flying Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcons provided armed overwatch and force protection for a convoy and medevac mission. The convoy requested route surveillance of a historical hotspot for improvised explosive devices prior to the convoy's arrival. Suspicious personnel were noted beneath a bridge and in close proximity. Later, pilots conducted shows of force to deter enemy fire on a medevac mission. The shows of force were effective at stopping enemy fire during the medevac extraction mission.

Shkin
Air Force pilots flying F-16Cs provided armed overwatch for a friendly forces convoy. When the convoy reported taking enemy fire, pilots received coordinates for the enemy position and released several precision-guided munitions against the enemy target, which eliminated the threat. The enemy fire ceased.

Shurakian
Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch and surveillance for friendly forces. When the pilots observed enemy forces firing on the friendly position, they made a request to counter attack. Pilots fired a rocket to mark the enemy position and then commenced a strafing run of cannon fire against the enemy position, which terminated all activity at the enemy site.

Surkhabad
Coalition aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Suspicious personnel and activity were observed at an enemy compound and the aircraft was tasked with conducting shows of force to deter enemy activity in the area.
