Provincial government, American servicemembers dedicate midwifery program in Afghanistan
Fazlullah Wahidi, Dr. Asadullah Fazli and Pashtoon Azfar take turns cutting the ribbon commemorating the opening of the Kunar midwifery program training center Dec. 22 in Asadabad, Afghanistan. The midwifery program will train 24 women from Kunar province in an 18-month long course on providing prenatal and postpartum care to expectant mothers and their babies to decrease infant mortality rates.
