Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Asadabad
Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When enemy forces attacked the friendly forces while the aircraft refueled, a request to deter the enemy was made. Precision-guided munitions were released near the enemy fighting position which terminated the threat to friendly forces.

Morghab
An Air Force B-1B Lancer and F-16C aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The friendly units reported receiving significant enemy small-arms fire and requested air support. The points of origin for the enemy fire were confirmed and passed to the aircraft. Precision-guided munitions were released on the target coordinates, destroying the enemy fighting positions. Later, shows of force were performed to deter any potential enemy action and reassure friendly forces that air power was still in the area. The shows of force were successful as no new enemy action was noted.

Asmar
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles provided armed overwatch and reconnaissance for a friendly forces dismounted patrol. The friendly patrol reported taking enemy small-arms fire and requested support in the vicinity of the friendly patrol. The enemy fighting position was positively identified and a precision-guided munition released on the coordinates, ending enemy activity.

F-15E aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The friendly forces requested support after receiving intermittent enemy fire. The enemy fighting position was positively identified and precision-guided munitions released on the coordinates. The enemy fighting position was destroyed, eliminating a threat to the friendly forces.

Surkhabad
Coalition aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. A request for a show of force was made and the aircraft successfully performed the show of force.

The aircraft observed enemy forces going in and out of a compound to fire on the patrol. The enemy was too close to the patrol and non combatants to engage with weapons and performed several shows of force, with flares expended, to deter enemy action. The shows of force were deemed successful when no further enemy fire was noted.

Konduz
F-16 aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When the friendly forces reported taking enemy fire, a request for air power support was made. The aircraft were directed to perform shows of force to deter any further enemy action. The shows of force, some with flares expended, were considered successful when the enemy forces vacated the area and no further enemy action occurred.

Gardez
An F-15E aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When the friendly forces reported taking enemy fire, the aircraft was directed to perform a show of force to deter the enemy action. The show of force was successful in deterring enemy action.

Shurakian
Coalition aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircraft performed a show of force to deter any potential enemy activity. The show of force was successful in preventing any potential enemy action.

Salerno
An F-16 provided armed overwatch and area reconnaissance for friendly forces. The aircraft was directed to search for possible rockets being transported. A large explosion occurred and the aircraft was requested to perform shows of force to deter potential enemy action in the area of the explosion. The shows of were considered successful when no enemy action was noted in the area.

Gereshk
Coalition aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircraft performed a show of force to deter any potential enemy activity. The show of force was successful in preventing any potential enemy action.
