The friendly forces requested action to deter enemy action when they observed enemy forces setting up weapons for an attack on friendly forces. The enemy-fighting position was positively identified and a missile fired on the coordinates. The enemy-fighting position was destroyed, eliminating the threat to friendly forces. Remak F-15E aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and a convoy. When the convoy reported being hit with an improvised explosive device, the aircraft were reassigned from the friendly forces to the convoy. A show of force was performed to deter any potential enemy action related to the IED and was considered successful when no enemy action was noted. Asadabad Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft provided armed overwatch for a friendly forces dismounted patrol working with local villagers. When the patrol reported suspicious activity in the village, the aircraft were directed to perform a show of force to deter any potential enemy action.
