Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations Dec. 13 according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Ali Kheyl
Navy F/A-18C Hornet aircraft were providing armed overwatch for a coalition forces convoy. When the coalition forces convoy reported taking enemy fire, a request for airpower support was made. Shows of force were performed and considered successful when no further enemy fire was noted.

Qal-E-Naw
Air Force B-1B Lancer aircraft were providing armed overwatch for a friendly forces and convoy. The convoy requested a show of force while it stopped due to vehicle problems and arrival of a medical helicopter to deter any potential enemy action. The show of force was successful as no enemy action was noted during the convoy delay.

Monari
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft flew armed overwatch for friendly forces. When the friendly forces reported taking enemy small-arms fire, shows of force were requested to deter the enemy fire. The shows of force were successful in stopping the enemy fire.

Lashkar Gah
F/A-18C aircraft provided armed overwatch for coalition forces. The coalition forces reported taking enemy fire from a compound and requested a show of force to deter any further enemy action. The show of force was successfully performed when no further enemy action was noted.

Konduz
Air Force F-16C aircraft provided armed overwatch and surveillance for a friendly forces convoy. The friendly convoy requested a show of force to deter potential enemy action as they entered city limits. The show of force was successful in preventing enemy action while the convoy passed through the town.

Asadabad
F-15E aircraft were providing armed overwatch for a friendly forces ground operation. A show of force was requested to augment the operation and deter any potential enemy action. The show of force was successful in deterring enemy action in the area.

Surkhabad
Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft provided armed overwatch friendly forces. The friendly forces requested a show of force for reassurance that airpower was in the area and to deter any enemy activity. The show of force was successful in deterring any potential enemy action as none was noted.
