Nov. 30 airpower summary Published Dec. 7, 2009 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations Nov. 30 according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here. Air Operations in Afghanistan: Asadabad Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Air support was requested when the friendly forces reported taking enemy small-arms fire. Precision-guided munitions were employed on the enemy fighting positions destroying them and ending the enemy fire. F-15Es provided armed overwatch for friendly forces later in the day. Shows of force were requested to deter potential enemy action. The shows of force were considered successful when no enemy action was noted. Chahar Bagh Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces reported receiving enemy small-arms fire, a show of force was successfully performed that ended the enemy fire. An Air Force B-1B Lancer provided reconnaissance and armed overwatch for friendly forces. When friendly forces reported enemy small-arms fire while trying to evacuate from the area, a show of force was successfully performed that ended the enemy fire on friendly forces. Bastion A-10s provided escort and armed overwatch for a coalition forces convoy. Shows of force were requested to deter potential enemy action while the convoy was enroute.
