Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and International Security Assistance Force troops in Afghanistan during operations Oct. 31 according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Gardez
Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles flew armed overwatch for friendly forces. Coordinates for an enemy position in a cave were confirmed and passed to the aircraft and precision-guided munitions were employed on the target to destroy and eliminate a potential threat.

Chahar Bagh
An Air Force MQ-9A Reaper was providing armed overwatch for friendly forces. The Reaper also was conducting reconnaissance and surveillance of the area when it observed enemy forces firing on a friendly forces compound. Missiles were fired and the threat to friendly forces eliminated.

Navy F/A-18C Hornets were providing overwatch for a coalition forces medical evacuation convoy. The aircraft were on the look out for suspicious activity in and around the convoy route. Aircrews performed a show of force to continue deterrence of enemy action. The show of force was considered successful.

Asmar
An F-15E provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircraft also provided reconnaissance of the area, looking for suspicious activity near several known enemy positions. When the friendly forces reported receiving enemy small-arms fire, a request for armed interdiction was made and precision-guided munitions were released and the enemy position was eliminated.

An Air Force MQ-1B Predator was providing armed overwatch for friendly forces. The Predator was also conducting reconnaissance and surveillance of the area when a request for assistance from friendly forces was received. Missiles were fired and a threat to friendly forces was eliminated.

Monari
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcons were providing overwatch and reconnaissance for friendly forces. Enemy forces were seen moving from compound to compound and a request to perform a show of force was issued. The show of force, with flares expended, successfully prevented enemy action.

Lashkar Gah
Navy F/A-18E Super Hornets were in the skies providing overwatch for coalition forces. As the aircraft arrived on station, they received a request for a show of force due to the coalition forces receiving enemy small-arms fire. The show of force, with flares expended, was successful in ending the enemy action.

F/A-18Cs provided overwatch for friendly forces. The aircraft also were providing surveillance of the area and saw personnel in an open field. A show of force was requested to deter any potential enemy action. The show of force, with flares expended, was successful in deterring enemy action

Ali Kheyl
F-15Es were providing armed overwatch for friendly forces. When Afghan National Army forces reported receiving enemy fire, shows of force to deter the enemy action were requested. The shows of force were conducted and successfully deterred further aggression.

Shurakian
An Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II and an F/A-18F Super Hornet were providing overwatch for a friendly forces dismounted patrol. When the patrol approached a known enemy position that had fired on patrols before, a request for shows of force was made. The aircraft provided reconnaissance of the area looking for suspicious activity and confirmed enemy troops in the enemy compound. The aircrews performed shows of force that successfully deterred any enemy action as the patrol passed by the compound.

Karokh and Qal-E-Naw
A-10 Thunderbolt IIs were providing overwatch for a friendly forces dismounted patrol. When the patrol approached a known enemy position that had fired on patrols before, a request for shows of force was made. The aircraft provided reconnaissance of the area looking for suspicious activity and confirmed enemy troops in the enemy compound. The aircrews performed the shows of force that successfully deterred any enemy action as the patrol passed by the compound.
