Hickam Airmen deploy to Afghanistan

Fifty-four reservists from the 624th Civil Engineer Squadron left Hickam Air Force Base for a deployment to Afghanistan Aug. 5. 

Half the squadron is being mobilized and the Airmen will support Army personnel when the arrive in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

Members of the 624th CES fall under the 624th Regional Support Group headquartered at Hickam AFB. The group provides combatant commanders more than 650 combat-ready Airmen who specialize in aerial port, aeromedical staging and civil engineering operations for worldwide employment.
