'Today's Air Force' features a farewell to the first CMSAF Published June 8, 2009 SAN ANTONIO (AFNS) -- Featured in this edition of "Today's Air Force" is a farewell to the first chief master sergeant of the Air Force, solar power at Nellis Air Force Base and Operation Southern Partner. Family, friends and admirers gathered in Arlington, Va., to pay their final respects to Paul Airey, the first chief master sergeant of the Air Force and a true Air Force pioneer. Also, President Barack Obama took time to recognize the energy saving efforts of the Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base. He wants to use the program at Nellis as a blueprint for the use of solar power across America. Operation Southern Partner is underway with more than 60 airmen exchanging ideas and strengthening U.S. relationships with Caribbean nations. The 30-minute, weekly news show can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel and American Forces Television Service stations around the world. The show also airs on more than 140 public cable-access stations within the United States.
