Congressional staff members visit AFPC

  • Published
Professional staff members from the House Armed Services Committee's subcommittee on military personnel visited the Air Force Personnel Center here April 15 to learn more about the many initiatives the center has undertaken to deliver personnel services to Airmen and civilians.

Some of the initiatives discussed included recent outreach programs, such as Spread the Word visits, a personnel course for squadron commanders and Web modernization. The visitors also received up-to-date information on force development, the Total Force Service Center, the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program and AFPC's program review process.

AFPC was part of the group's two-day visit to San Antonio that included stops at the Air Force Recruiting Service, Air Force Services Agency, Air Education and Training Command headquarters, as well as various units at Fort Sam Houston and Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

The subcommittee, which is part of the House Armed Services Committee, provides oversight of the Department of Defense's military personnel programs and provides background information, program budget assessments and administrative support to members of Congress.
