Nominations sought for DOD outreach awards

Air Force officials are soliciting nominations for the 2009 Department of Defense Outreach Awards. There are nine different awards, each with its own eligibility requirements and deadlines. These awards include:

Federal Asian Pacific American Council Military Meritorious Service Award:  The 2009 FAPAC Military Meritorious Service Award honors military service men and women who supported the war on terrorism; best displayed the ideals of duty, honor, country; or who best epitomized the core values and the citizen-warrior attributes of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from May 2007 through March 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than April 24.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award:  The 2009 NAACP Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award honors military members and Department of Defense civilian employees who supported the war on terrorism and demonstrated role-model qualities and the core values of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from July 2006 through May 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than April 24.

Society of American Indian Government Employees Meritorious Service Award: The 2009 SAIGE Meritorious Service Award honors military members and DOD civilian employees who supported the DOD mission, the war on terrorism and demonstrated role-model qualities and the core values of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from June 2007 through April 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than April 24.

The National "Image, Incorporated" Meritorious Service Award: The 2009 National Image, Inc. Meritorious Service Award honors military members and DOD civilian employees who supported the DOD mission, the war on terrorism or whose attributes best epitomized the qualities and core values of their respective military service or agency. The period of performance for this award is from May 2007 through March 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than April 24.

The League of United Latin American Citizens Excellence in Military Service Award:
The 2009 LULAC Excellence in Military Service Award honors military service men and women who supported the DOD mission, the war on terrorism or whose attributes best epitomized the qualities and the core values of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from July 2007 through May 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than April 30.

The National Organization for Mexican American Rights Meritorious Service Award: The 2009 NOMAR Meritorious Service Award honors military members and DOD civilian employees who supported the DOD mission, the war on terrorism and demonstrated role-model qualities and the core values of their respective military service or agency. The period of performance for this award is from August 2007 through June 2009.  Nominations should be emailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than May 15.

Blacks in Government Meritorious Service Award:  The 2009 BIG Meritorious Service Award honors military members and DOD civilian employees who supported the war on terrorism and demonstrated role-model qualities and the core values of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from August 2006 through June 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than May 15.

National LATINA Symposium Distinguished Service Award:  The 2009 National LATINA Symposium Distinguished Service Award honors military members and DOD civilian employees who supported the DOD mission, the war on terrorism and demonstrated role model qualities and the core values of their respective military service and agency. The period of performance for this award is from September 2007 through July 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than June 15.

Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Award Corporation Cadet Role Model Award:  The 2009 HENAAC Cadet Role Model Award honors service academy cadets, midshipmen and ROTC cadets who aspire to academic excellence, demonstrate dignity and pride and display individual leadership. The period of performance for this award is from October 2008 through August 2009. Nominations should be e-mailed directly to dpsidr.taskmgt@randolph.af.mil no later than July 15.

Major commands, forward operating agencies, direct reporting units, and units of the award recipients are responsible for funding the travel and per diem costs associated with attendance at the respective recognition ceremony.
