Air Force Small Business officials spread the word about the innovation, agility and efficiency of small businesses to more than 1,400 contracting professionals attending the National Contract Management Association, or NCMA, World Congress here April 5 to 8.

Ronald A. Poussard, director of the Air Force Office of Small Business Programs, said the event was an excellent opportunity to educate the contracting industry about the capabilities of small business.

"Small businesses have multifunctional capabilities and security clearances," he said. "They can do everything from construction to cyberspace to airfield management and spacecraft manufacturing."

During the event, Mr. Poussard hosted a breakout session about the Air Force's "Beyond Goals" vision. Beyond Goals is a strategy to bring the innovation, agility and efficiency of small businesses to the mission of the Air Force to fly, fight and win ... in air, space and cyberspace.

Other speakers at the NCMA event included leaders from the Defense Contract Management Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In addition to presenting the session, "Beyond Goals for the Warfighter," Mr. Poussard participated in a panel discussion titled, "Rules and Benefits in Partnering with Nation's Veteran and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses." He and other members of the Air Force small business community also visited Jackson Aerospace, a small business participating in the Air Force Mentor-Protégé Program.
