'Today's Air Force' features Air Force support to Iraqis Published Jan. 5, 2009 SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFNS) -- This edition of "Today's Air Force" highlights some of the events Air Force members were involved with throughout the year. While all events engaging Airmen are crucial, these are but a few that led to the success of the Air Force mission. One of the events featured focuses on the efforts in Iraq where an effective war on terrorism required a combination of ground troops and Airmen in the sky. Another is the preparation of tomorrow's leaders in Iraq and Afghanistan and how Air Force officers and civilians are improving foreign language skills for future Iraqi officers. Also featured is a segment that shows how Air Force specialists are moving toward using synthetic fuel and how it plays a major role not only in saving money but also in saving the environment. The 30-minute, weekly news show can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel, American Forces Radio and Television Service stations around the world, and is available via podcast at http://www.af.mil/library/podcast.asp.
