World leaders from 20 countries attending the G-20 Summit on Financial Markets and the World Economy arrived Nov. 13 and 14 here.

The summit, hosted by President George W. Bush, brought together world leaders to discuss the increasing global financial crisis, its causes and efforts to resolve it.

More than 24 aircraft landed here and were serviced upon arrival and prior to departure by a combined team of members of the 316th Wing, 89th Airlift Wing, U.S. Secret Service, State Department, Customs, DynCorp and various other agencies.

Services included fueling, catering, cleaning, latrine and water service, security, protocol support, passenger and cargo loading and offloading, customs support, security screening of crews, passengers and luggage.

Andrews Air Force Base officials brought in equipment from all over the Air Force including stair trucks and baggage conveyers to service the wide variety of aircraft utilized by world leaders, said John Polhemus, the 316th Wing assistant chief of Protocol.

About 2,000 people were transported through the Andrews AFB flightline for the summit, he said.
