In his latest "Enlisted Perspective," the Air Force's top enlisted Airman discusses how Airmen have taken on new roles in today's fight against terrorism working with NATO International Security Assistance Force Provincial Reconstruction teams.

"These combined teams of joint military and civilian government agencies work hand-in-hand with provincial and tribal leaders to encourage prosperity and industry in the country, said Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley.

"These teams primarily operate in remote villages to fulfill a three-part strategy for Afghanistan -- security, governance and development -- securing a brighter future for this nation whose infrastructure suffers from decades of war and occupation," Chief McKinley said.

He said Airmen are bringing hope and developing capability to an area devastated by drought and malnutrition.
