Officers, civilians selected for developmental education Published Oct. 23, 2008 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- More than 960 officers and 68 civilians were selected recently to attend intermediate, senior and civilian developmental education programs during the academic 2009-2010 year, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced. The Developmental Education Designation Board, or DEDB, met Oct. 15 to select line and non-line officers and civilians to attend in-residence developmental education. The full list of primaries and alternates will be posted to the Air Force Portal Oct. 27. To access the list, go to the Air Force Portal, click on the Life and Career icon, then select Force Development and Learning Community of Practice. From there, select Developmental Education School List. Air Force civilian employees selected for Senior Developmental Education PME will be announced in January 2009 following the Department of Defense announcement of those selected for the Defense Senior Leader Development Program. The DEDB process began this spring when senior raters nominated officers and civilians for developmental education. These nominations then were forwarded to developmental teams who deliberately vectored military officers for intermediate and senior developmental education, and vectored civilians to civilian developmental education programs. For officers, developmental teams used officer development plans to understand officers' preferences and to consider senior raters' recommendations about the appropriate developmental assignment and career plan. Officers whose names were forwarded to the DEDB by their developmental teams but who were not selected as primary designees were identified as alternates. Additional IDE/SDE officer and CDE civilian program information is available on the AFPC "Ask" Web site.
