Airman's Roll Call: Thrift Savings Plan

  • Published
This week's Airman's Roll Call focuses on the long-term retirement savings plan Airmen and civilians can use to supplement their retirement plans.

The savings plan gives investors the opportunity to lower their taxes each year they contribute.

The taxes are deferred until the employee withdraws from the account after retirement. Investment money is deposited directly from each paycheck, so you never have to think about it. That makes it easy to "pay yourself first" while only investing what you deem appropriate.

Air Force leaders urged everyone to take advantage of this program to help prepare them for their future.
