The U.S. Air Force Academy baseball team's bats were relatively quiet as the Falcons only managed to stroke six hits in a 3-2 loss to Savannah State March 26 at Tiger Field here.

The loss drops the Falcons to 9-13 as the Air Force lost in the ninth on a game-winning walk-off win for Savannah State.

With the Tigers having just taken a 2-1 lead with a run in the eighth, hot-hitting Jeff Abt homered for the second-consecutive game to tie it all up for the Falcons. Abt also scored the Air Force's other run in the second inning, belting a double and coming around to score on an error.

Savannah State pushed across a run in the fifth to tie the game up.

Freshman Greg Laswell had a solid day on the mound for the Falcons in his first-career start. The right-hander allowed one run, after he had left the game, in 4.1 innings pitched off four hits and two strikeouts. Jake Petro went 2.2 innings in relief. Michael Ruvolo (2-2) took the loss for the Falcons, pitching the remaining 1.1 innings.

The Falcons return to action March 28 beginning a three-game conference series at Utah.
