Tennis: Falcons fall to Stetson

U.S. Air Force Academy women's tennis team fall to Stetson March 24 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center here. 

The Hatters swept the three doubles matches and won at the top four singles positions to seal the victory and the Falcons record fell to 4-13. 

Junior Meghan Kiser and freshman Sarah Cassman lost 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, while senior Erika Shortridge and freshman Samantha Sarkis lost in the No. 2 doubles with the same score. Senior Lauren Wilson and sophomore Erlyn Rudico lost in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles. 

Junior Christine Abayan lost 6-2, 6-4 in No. 1 singles.  In the No. 2 position, Wilson fell 6-0, 6-4. Sarkis lost the No. 3 singles match in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, and 6-1 and freshman Katrina Eromin lost, 2-6, 7-6, and 7-5 at No. 4.

Falcons freshmen won at Nos. 5 and 6, with Christen Monreal winning 6-2, 2-6, and 6-1, at No. 5, and Cassman at No. 6 won 7-5, 6-3.

The Falcons travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on Mountain West Conference opponent New Mexico on March 28.
