In his latest "Enlisted Perspective," the Air Force's top enlisted Airman addressed the need for all Airmen to maintain a healthy lifestyle to meet mission challenges.

"A healthy lifestyle not only boosts energy levels, endurance and reduces stress in every day duties, but also it can potentially save an Airman's life in a deployed environment," said Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley.

In addition to keeping physically fit, Chief McKinley urged moderation in alcohol, a cessation in smoking and healthy eating.

He also asked other senior enlisted leaders to encourage all Airmen to live a healthy lifestyle to continue to improve the capability and readiness of the Air Force.

"Health and fitness professionals at our health and wellness centers, fitness centers and medical treatment facilities are uniquely qualified to assist Airmen and their family's quest for better health," Chief McKinley said. "I encourage everyone to take advantage of their support and expert guidance."

This "Enlisted Perspective" and other senior leader viewpoints can be found on the library section of Air Force Link.
