A 'galaxy' far, far away
Airman 1st Class Chris Olmstead attaches his safety harness to the safety rail of a C-5 Galaxy before performing maintenance on the aircraft Jan. 1 at Balad Air Base, Iraq. The gigantic C-5, with its tremendous payload capability, provides airlift in support of the war on terrorism. The C-5 can carry fully equipped combat-ready military units to any point in the world on short notice and then provide field support required to help sustain the fighting force.
