Holiday Notes from Home airs Dec. 24, 25

Viewers around the world will have a chance to see this year's Holiday Notes from Home featuring the Band of the Air Force Reserve and a list of guest artists.

Two shows air on Great American Country Television and the Armed Forces Radio and Televsion Network Dec. 24 and 25.

Holiday Notes from Home is an annual concert recorded at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn. The 90-minute program hosted by Lorraine Crook and Charlie Chase of Crook and Chase, includes guest artists Aaron Neville, Take 6, Lonestar and 60 Air Force musicians from the Band of the Air Force Reserve and the Air Force Strings ensemble.

The audio and video was edited into a CD and DVD for future distribution, and the show has already aired overseas on American Forces Radio and Television Network and in the U.S. on Rural Free Delivery Television and Great American Country Television.

"It's a privilege to be able to send a touch of home to the troops over the Christmas holiday," said Dave Ballengee, deputy drector of the Band of the Air Force Reserve.

This year's concert will air (all Eastern Standard Times): GAC Television: Dec. 24 at 10 p.m. and Dec. 25 at 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. AFN Spectrum channel (U.S. military bases overseas only): Dec. 25 at 11:30 a.m.
