In his latest "Enlisted Perspective," the Air Force's top enlisted Airman comments on the new way to release promotion results which will resolve several issues with the current notification process.

"The new process has been extensively tested, and we'll begin using this promotion release avenue starting with the November 2007 selection for chief master sergeant promotion announcement," Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley said.

Chief McKinley said the current process has several challenges; such as notifying Airmen worldwide on a specific date and time, safeguarding the integrity of the list against unauthorized release and premature notification, and letting non-selects know their status at the same time.

"The Air Force Personnel Center will now post the promotion announcement and list directly to secure and non-secure worldwide Web sites. This new procedure ensures timely notification for everyone," Chief McKinley said.

This "Enlisted Perspective" and other senior leader viewpoints can be found on the library section of Air Force Link.
