Air Force to hold industry forum for energy projects

  • Published
Air Force officials will host an Energy Enhanced Use Lease Industry Forum Sep. 26 and 27 in California to give private industry and community stakeholders an opportunity to learn how the service intends to use energy projects, both renewable and conventional.

During the two-day forum, which will be held in Ontario, Calif., Air Force representatives will discuss the service's energy strategy and highlight potential projects capable of generating energy at Air Force bases throughout the country.

Air Force officials will also unveil details of potential large-scale energy projects at bases in California, Arizona and New Mexico.

The event gives attendees the opportunity to provide their input on potential projects and help shape the future of the Air Force's energy program. Attendees will represent state and local governments, public utilities, real estate developers, equipment manufacturers, private equity firms, lenders and other firms.

Energy projects are the latest to be explored through the Air Force's Enhanced Use Lease program, which builds partnerships between the military and private industry by leasing underutilized military assets to private entities for development. This effort is part of the larger Air Force-wide energy strategy that aims to reduce demand and increase supply of energy resources. It also drives changes in Air Force culture when it comes to consuming and conserving energy.

The Energy Enhanced Use Industry Forum is open to the general public. For more information about this event and to register, please visit https://www.enstg.com/Signup (conference code REN96690). Any additional questions should be directed to the AFRPA Energy EUL team at 703-696-5580.
