The 67th Network Warfare Wing and its predecessors have a long, distinguished service record.

The mission of the wing is to execute Air Force network operations, defense, attack and exploitation to create integrated cyberspace effects for the Air Force Network Operations commander and combatant commands.

Lineage

Nov. 6, 1947 -- Established as 67th Reconnaissance Wing

Nov. 25, 1947 -- Organized as 67th RW at March Field (later Air Force Base), Calif. Assigned to Twelfth Air Force until Dec. 20, 1948 and attached to 1st Fighter Wing.

Aug. 22, 1948 -- Redesignated 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, assigned to Fourth Air Force, and remained attached to 1st FW. Inactivated March 28, 1949 at March Field.

Feb. 25, 1951 -- Activated at Komaki Air Base, Japan, with assignment to Fifth Air Force. On March 21, moved to Taegu AB, South Korea and then moved to Kimpo AB, South Korea Aug. 20, 1951.

Dec. 6, 1954 -- Moved to Itami AB, Japan

July 1, 1957 -- Moved to Yokota AB, Japan

Nov. 10, 1958 -- Assigned to 41st Air Division

Dec. 8, 1960 -- Discontinued and inactivated at Yokota AB

Aug. 2, 1965 -- Activated with assignment to Tactical Air Command.

Jan 1, 1966 -- Organized at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho with assignment to Twelfth Air Force.

April 15, 1966 -- Assigned to 831st Air Division

July 15, 1971-- Moved to Bergstrom AFB, Texas

Oct. 1, 1991 -- Redesignated 67th Reconnaissance Wing with assignment to Twelfth Air Force

Sept. 30, 1993 -- Inactivated at Bergstrom AFB

Oct. 1, 1993 -- Activated and redesignated 67th Intelligence Wing at Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, with assignment to Air Intelligence Agency

Aug. 1, 2000 -- Redesignated 67th Information Operations Wing

Feb. 1, 2001 -- Assigned to Eighth Air Force

July 5, 2006 -- Redesignated 67th Network Warfare Wing
