In his latest "Enlisted Perspective," the Air Force's top enlisted Airman discusses how supervisors need to develop and care for their Airmen from the very beginning to set them on the path to success.

"Our job as leaders is to keep this Warrior Ethos alive in our Airmen -- refining their fire and spirit as we continue to foster their development," said Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley.

Chief McKinley said everyone needs to keep military discipline, standards and attention to detail at the forefront, and that no one should be more concerned with an Airman's success than his or her supervisor.

"If we do this, I am confident we will have less Airmen getting into trouble early and they will also have someone to speak to if they are having difficulties," Chief McKinley said. "That would be someone they trust; someone who will be there from the beginning -- their supervisor."

This "Enlisted Perspective" and other senior leader viewpoints can be found on the library section of Air Force Link.
