Getting ready to fly to McMurdo
Maintainers from McChord Air Force Base, Wash., refuel a C-17 Globemaster III Aug. 18 after arriving at Christchurch, New Zealand. Airmen and the C-17 are at Christchurch to begin the annual winter fly-in, known as WinFly. During these flights, aircrews transport scientists, support personnel, food and equipment for the U.S. Antarctic program at McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
