Airman's Roll Call highlights Airmen's education benefits

  • Published
This week's Airman's Roll Call highlights the importance of education for the professional and personal development of all Airmen.

Through base education centers and the Air Force Virtual Education Center, Airmen have countless educational benefits right at their fingertips.

The Air Force Tuition Assistance Program will pay up to $4,500 in tuition and fees per year for college courses; the Montgomery G.I. Bill ("Kicker") Buy-up Program allows active-duty servicemembers to increase their total benefits up to $5,400; education centers offer free education counseling services to members; and CLEP and DANTES testing, which can cost $80 or more in the civilian sector, are free to Airmen and can count as college credit toward certain degree programs.

More information about these and other Air Force education benefits are available at base education centers and by visiting the AFVEC Web site through the Air Force Portal.

Airman's Roll Call is designed for supervisors at all levels to help keep Airmen informed on current issues, clear up confusion, dispel rumors and provide additional face-to-face communication.
