'Today's Air Force' highlights Afghan operations

  • Published
The first segment of this week's edition of "Today's Air Force" features the Craig Joint Theater Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, that provides top-notch healthcare for deployed Airmen.

This new facility was constructed by a provincial reconstruction team, or PRT, a total force team composed of active, Guard and Reserve servicemembers from all services and civilian members.

In the second segment, come celebrate the Air Force's 60th anniversary. This is a celebration with events spread throughout the year to commemorate the birthday. Six different cities have hosted Air Force weeks and have placed the Air Force on display in a variety of local events. The next Air Force week will be held in New England, Aug. 18-26.

Also featured is a segment on Air Force jobs. While the Air Force is known for its high-tech careers, there are other fields equally important.  Meet locksmiths, plumbers and vehicle operators.

The long-format, weekly news show tells Air Force stories in more depth. The program is made up of three segments and each runs approximately eight minutes. Although each can stand alone, they are related to form a seamless program.

"Today's Air Force" can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel and via American Forces Radio and Television Service stations all around the world or subscribe to receive the Air Force feed via podcast.
