Latest 'Today's Air Force' now available

  • Published
This week's edition of "Today's Air Force" highlights unmanned aerial vehicles, including the Air Force's latest unmanned vehicle and first hunter-killer UAV, the MQ-9 Reaper. More powerful than the MQ-1 Predator, the MQ-9 is designed to go after time-sensitive targets and can destroy or disable them with gravity bombs.

Also featured are Airmen who are moving cargo by way of ground convoys. See how these Airmen learn the ins and outs of combat convoy duties. Even more important, observe how the Air Force delivers its most valuable asset . . . Airmen.

And see how the Air Force is a leading consumer of green power by drawing electricity from renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind farms, and using hydrogen to fuel some of its vehicles.

The long-format, weekly news show tells Air Force stories in more depth. The program is made up of three segments and each runs approximately eight minutes. Although each can stand alone, they are related to form a seamless program.

"Today's Air Force" can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel and via American Forces Radio and Television Service stations all around the world.  Subscribers can receive the Air Force feed via podcast at www.af.mil/library/podcast.asp.

Also, more than 100 cable-access stations air the program, which can be obtained either from a satellite feed or through a file-transfer protocol server. If you would like your local public access station to carry this program, send your request to us at afnews.marketing@afnews.af.mil.
