Top Air Force recruiters, trainers of year announced

Air Education and Training Command announced the following Air Force winners of the 2007 U.S. Air Force Recruiter, Military Training Instructor and Military Training Leader of the Year Awards in the following categories:

Recruiter of the Year Category: Staff Sgt. Jason Rodriguez, 344th Recruiting Squadron, Arlington, Texas. Sergeant Rodriguez' solid leadership and dedication to recruiting is the driving force behind his selection as the 2006 Top Recruiter in the 369th Recruiting Group and the Air Force Recruiting Service. He garnered the 344th RS'  "Master Recruiter" title for the second consecutive year surpassing the recruitment goal by 216 percent. With his unparalleled attention to detail, Sergeant Rodriguez' processing success rate was 95 percent and he was lauded by the Dallas processing station as having the best prepared applicants.

Military Training Instructor of the Year, Non-Supervisory Category: Tech. Sgt. Kenneth Pryga, 737th Training Support Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Sergeant Pryga led the 321st Training Squadron in molding 200 warrior Airmen for Air Force commanders resulting in an excellent rating during their instructor/trainee annual evaluation. For his impeccable performance as a MTI, he was awarded the AETC Master Instructor Badge ... garnered by only 5 percent of instructors.

Military Training Instructor of the Year, Supervisory Category: Tech. Sgt. Marc Schoellkopf, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Sergeant Schoellkopf is an innovator and visionary leader; he directed the development of the Basic Cadet Training chart providing continuity and structured lessons for future courses. He planned and directed all facets of Basic Cadet Training producing more than 1,300 graduates to become potential officers.

Military Training Instructor of the Year, Reservist Category: Tech. Sgt. Hugo Gamarra, 433rd TRS, Lackland AFB. Sergeant Gamarra is a dedicated professional and military training instructor who earned the coveted title as the 2006 433rd TRS Blue Rope of the Year. He expertly prepared the 433rd TRS Military Training Instructor students to succeed, resulting in a 100 percent graduation rate.

Military Training Leader of the Year, Junior Category: Tech. Sgt. Johnny Hamm, 97th TRS, Altus AFB, Okla. Sergeant Hamm is a superior mentor who led more than 80 hours of overtime in preparation for the 2006 AETC Operational Readiness Inspection resulting in the Military Training Flight receiving an outstanding rating. The 97th Air Mobility Wing recognized him as number 1 of 13 Military Training Leaders for his leadership skills, selecting him as the Wing's Lance P. Sijan Leadership Award nominee.

Military Training Leader of the Year, Senior Category: Senior Master Sgt. Steven Davison, 311th TRS, Monterey, Calif. Sergeant Davison led and mentored 23 MTLs charged with training more than 1,550 Airmen resulting in his selection as the number 1 NCO out of 40 within his squadron when he was selected as the 2006 fourth quarter Military Training Leader of the Quarter. He led the MTL inspection of the collateral training folders in identifying and correcting 220 discrepancies resulting in zero write-ups during the AETC 2006 ORI.
